Hi definition television?

IS it really true that my television really wont work in Feb 2009 once all programming is switched to hi def. I find it it hard to believe there will be no picture unless I buy a converter box. Please help

  1. Not to high def it's to digital so if you use an antenna it won't work. If you have a cable box or satellite of any kind it will work.


  2. If you're on cable or satellite your fine.  If you use an antenna (and your TV is more than 2 years old) you might have to get a converter box to see any channels.

  3. It's true. But the switch is from analog to digital broadcasting and only effects people who get their TV using an antenna. If you get cable or satellite service, you don't need to do anything, except maybe pay more money to you cable company if they move you to a set-top box.

    While most of the networks will carry high def as their primary channel, many also broadcast secondary SD channels with news, weather, traffic, kids programming, etc.

  4. It's true but if you have cable tv you should be good to go. If you do not have cable tv then you'll need a converter box which you can get a coupon good for $40 off the price of the converter box.

  5. It's true.  Get a box or a new tv.  You can get the converter box for pretty cheap I think.  I don't need one, so I couldn't tell you how to get one.
