Hi I went to Bestbuy to buy Blu-ray movies & PS3 games. I was also checking out on HDMI cables & a Bestbuy employee he advice me that the Monster HDMI cables are better & even if you are watching Blu-ray movies & playing PS3 games. But, it cost $120? I am not sure is worth it or not & I have 768P HDTV & I am not sure it will make any difference. What do you think?

  1. lol, i love monster cable but in this instance......NO! just go buy an average $30-$40 hdmi cable. side by side you really cant tell a difference. you really have to pay attention side by side to notice. my $30 hdmi cables for my ps3 -> philips 42" 1080p tv do the trick great! you wont be dissapointed. escpecially on a 720 ( i guess you typed it in wrong, theres no 768p tvs)

  2. Try using a Dynex cable, and if there's no issue with it while using the blu-ray player on the PS3 then you're all set. However, I have heard horror stories where people have returned the PS3 thinking the HDMI slot was bad, when in reality, the Dynex cable couldn't transfer information fast enough. Also, 768 will be how many lines you have running horizontally. This will be one half of your resolution where 1366 is how many lines run vertical. 720p refers to what the television can handle as far as what's being broadcasted to it.

  3. i have one on my 55' sony 1080p and when i first bought it i didnt think that it was going to make that much of a difference........but it really does! the movies are way clearer and so are the games

  4. nah.. it is a very bad idea. hdmi cable transfer digital signal, if you are using it for less than 15 feet it wont make any differences. inspiretech sell a 6ft for like 5 bucks. http://www.inspiretech.com

  5. No, i have bought that same cable and have paid $2.00 for cables over the internet and can tell absolutley no difference between them. If you are going to pay more for a cable it should be for length, as otherwise they are pretty much the same.

  6. No, it isn't.

HDMI Cables carry a Digital Signal, and you don't need a 'Special' Cable to carry this Signal 6 Feet or so, from you PS3, to your 38" HDTV.

Monster Cable is Great for Analog Connections, and Especialy Speaker Cable. But Digital Signals don't realy need any Help. The Quality is more in the Digital Audio & Video Signals, which only Travel as far as the Cable is Long.

If you needed a Realy Long Cable, that spanned over 30 Feet, then you might need the Quality of a Monster Cable.

You should get a Quality Cable, but not a Monster Cable.

There are Many 6 Foot HDMI Cables that are around $20-$30. I'd get one of those.
