  1. Those are CallSave numbers, intended to be called only from within Ireland.

The handy saynoto1890 web site has many of the real phone numbers corrresponding to 1850 numbers. With any luck, the number you want to call can be found there.

  2. You can call them using Skype, but they work out quite expenisve, about 10 times the cost of a "normal" ireland number. Its up to you, but if you want to give me the number in an emaiI, I can call it for you and pass on a message. On the other hand, if the company has a website, you can sometimes find the 'real' number by going to the contacts page and looking for a number to call from overseas.

  3. If you are dialling outside of Ireland then it's 00 353... 00 to get you out of your country and 353 is the Ireland country code....

    Hope that helps

    LS

  4. You can't call them from outside Ireland. The phone company will route your calls to Dublin if you dial 1, then 850 XXXX. These numbers are only meant to be called from within the Republic of Ireland as 1850 is a 'callsave' number intended for Irish customers use only (as the company subsidises the call). You could try searching for a geographical number

  5. If you want to look up a telephone number, go to this website: www.goldenpages.ie and if it's someone's private number you want, click on Eircom Phone Book and enter their details. If they are listed, you should be able to get it.
