Hi me and my partner are looking to go to Perth or Sydney as soon as we can, he is a Tape and Jointer/Ames Taper/Dryliner etc does anybody know if there is much work out there for this line of work?

I can't even survive on what work is left in that trade in England anymore!

I can't tell you exactly what the situation is for that kind of work,  (I dont know what it is) but what I will tell you is that Perth has an extreme labour shortage - for every kind of job.  Have a look at our yellow pages for the employment agencies and contact them for exact details, www.yellowpages.com.au.  The unemployment rate here (WA) is less than 3%, and everywhere you go there are signs up for "workers wanted".  You will get work no doubt, just not sure if it will be in the field you want.

EDIT: I have checked your job, its plaster right? Well I can tell you that the building trade in general is short of workers here in WA.
