  1. i'd say you would need to get a French visa....its a different country with different rules...thats my opinion anyway..

  2. Different country, different rules. Ask in the french embassy in Italy. Good luck.

  3. Any third-country national who is a holder of a residence permit of a Schengen state (such as Italy) , which is granted for a stay which exceeds three months, is allowed to travel to any other member state (such as France) for a period of UP TO three months.

To reside in France for longer than three months you must apply for a long term visa (Carte de Séjour) from France.

  4. Any visa delivered by a country that is member of the Shengen Treaty is valid in the whole Shengen Area.

So, yes, an Italian visa allows you to travel and to stay in France, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Spain, etc.

Have a great time in Europe.

  5. Just as I can't go to Mexico with an American visa you can't live in France with an Italian visa, not for such a long period (The shengen visa is for 90 days max). But you might want to check the rules, depending where you are from you have different requirements. Have a look at this.
