  1. no rabies in AU or NZ we keep horrible things like that out with our strict quarantine rules

  2. There has never been a case of rabies in any animal in either New Zealand or Australia. Our countries are completely rabies free so you have absolutely nothing to worry about. Occasionally, an infected PERSON may arrive in the country from overseas, but again, no animal has ever been able to come in because of our very strict quarantine measures.

Don't worry - you have nothing to worry about.

  3. New Zealand and Australia have never had a case of rabies. The only way that rabies can be contracted is if one of the animals had biten one of your children.

Just keep an eye on your children and if they develop a fever then take them to your doctor.

  4. Australia and new zealand do not have endemic rabies, the few deaths in sydney the patient caught rabies from another country

  5. Rabies does not exist in animals in Australia or New Zealand.

  6. Everyones spot on, anyway short of a good scratch or a bite she'll be right.

  7. Congratulations on asking your first question.

Ignore anyone who says anything stupid.

In fact, unless you check with an actual doctor, you should ignore the majority of the advice you get on here.

With that said - you can at least get a majority opinion

(although the majority isn't always right!)
