Hi everyone, I am planning to purchase a camcorder so I need advice choosing between

Panasonic AG-DVX100b and Panasonic HVX200 one problem my budget is $3500 and

What is the best lighting kit for low budget for DVX100b or HVX200?

  1. Well the HVX is actually quite finicky when it comes to lighting and it can be a pain in the ***.  Plus, unless you're shooting to P2 cards, its not true HD, its just an HDV codec.

    Stick with the DVX100B and get a good light set.

    1 2k Fresnel

    2 1k Fresnels (arri or mole are best but pricey)

    1 1k/2k scoop light - always handy for a nice even soft flood

    3 650-500w open face or fresnel-  for fills or backlights

    2 200-300w fresnel or open face - for eyelights and small fills.

    Look around on ebay.  You can get some really great deals.  I've gotten about 4,450 watts worth of light for around $300 so far (not counting stands).  A nice big 1k/2k Colortran scoop, 3 650 Colortran open faces, and 1 500w Lowel Omni.  They all work great and really help out on a shoot.
