Yes I turned 50 a couple of weeks ago, I had plenty of self esteem prior to this phase in my life until I went to join the local club and they took a pic for my membership, well I have to say it really hurt and is still hurting to see those horriable laughing lines on my face, I did not realise I even had them until this pic was taken, now I feel sad very sad and even depressed I have been crying for a week now and when I asked my son "do I look old"? he replied no mum you just look tired. Thank you for listening everyone but I felt like I just had to tell some one!!!!

  1. i'm 16 so i cant pretend i know what you're going through, but i can understand your frustration. just think its happened to everyone else that's 50 and over and it will continue to happen to everyone else that will be older than 50. it's just another stage of your life. try to enjoy it before you cant anymore.

  2. Nearly 3 years ago I felt like you. I decided to have a complete make-over. The works! Hair cut short & dyed. Became a funky blonde instead of a schoolmarm grey with a bun on top! Bought jeans & funky tops, Dolly Parton bras & lovely thongs, the complete lot. My neighbour took me to town for coffee, meet her friends etc & asked them how old they thought I was. They all answered 40 - 45.

    I am 63 next birthday!  I FEEL GREAT ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

The moral of this story is:  you are only as old as you want to be.

Refuse to age and get on with growing younger! It's all in the mind and even if it wasn't you can't fight it.

Hope you find some inspiration here. Best wishes. UK
