  1. No, you need to have your batteries fully charged.


  2. It depends on the configuration chosen by the airline.  Before you fly, see if the airline website includes the information.  You could also try 'Seat Guru' at http://www.seatguru.com  -  this even tells you which seats are best on planes so you can try to change at check-in.

    Also - they aren't usually standard sockets - only special plane ones that need an adapter you can buy in an electrical store or the airport.  I did, however, fly recently with Air Canada and they had proper 2 pin 110V outlets and even usb outlets I could charge my phone/iPod from. Great!

  4. Although I've only ever been on easyJet (which is obviously coach), there are unfortunately no sockets on a plane. Either the APU or a socket on the ground gives power, and that is normally just enough to keep the avionics and lights on.

    However, though, I bet some airline will have 1st class sockets (aka. a private jet)?

  5. I have not been on a plane that offered outlets for computers.
