is it true that i don´t need a passport to go there because thre is a limit of 25 to 26 miles in to mexico, please help me

  1. No.  You need a passport to cross either border now thanks to the Department of Homeland Gestapo......


  2. Monterrey is 140 miles inside Mexico--you don't need a passport if you stay within 15 miles, before the first checkpoint. But it's a 2 1/2 hour drive from Laredo

  3. To get into Mexico via land or sea, you don't need a passport until June 1st, 2009. Just an original birth certificate and a driver's license will get you in.  Anyone flying into the country needs a passport.  If you're going more than 20 miles into the country, then you have to get a tourist card at the border.  If you get to the checkpoint without one, they'll turn you around and send you back to get one.
