The route is-Ambala-chandigath-kalka (by road or train) it will take u 2-3 hours.

Kalka is a very small village mainly used by tourists taking train to Simla. I stayed there in Hotel Amar. It was quite clean, decent and moderately charged. It does not have many amenities but u don't require it anyway.

You can visit musical fountain garden in chandigarh which is closer from Kalka.
