  1. Do you mean that the cruise is stopping in Rome...don't worry, generally at the Port there will hundreds of buses and taxis....

  2. Check with your cruise line. They can arrange all that for you and it's worry free if you do it through the cruise line. A taxi would cost a fortune, so don't go that way. A lot of cruise lines have buses that take you to the city, then drop you off, and pick you up at a specific time.

  3. when weve been weve always gone on organised trips, this way if the un-forseen happens, the ship will wait. if youre on your own it will leave you. weve also been told that some of the taxis will charge you £100.00 to get back to the ship. my advice,go on an organised trip.

  4. Take the train from Civitavecchia to Rome. Trains run every hour direct into Rome. Costs 12 Euros single.

Check to see if the cruise line runs a shuttle to the port entrance. The train station is about 10 minutes from the port entrance.

Make sure you allow plenty of time to get back to the ship, it won't wait if you're late.

  5. Im going in August aswell! Awesome. The best way is to get a taxi mate. I went last year. We got taxi and tour. It was a really good tour aswell. Who's your cruise company btw?
