  1. I've gotten behind the wheel of a 1971 Dodge Charger with a souped up 383 Magnum V8.  It was my dad's car and I only drove it in a parking lot.

I wish I took it on the road before my dad sold it a couple years ago.  It wasn't a Hemi, but it had a Hemi 4-speed transmission.  Most Chargers don't have Hemi engines.

  2. I have had the pleasure of driving a 69 charger with a 383 built by bob mazzalini racing enterprises, there is nothing else I have driven so far as to match the feeling of raw old school power, it was many days before the smile left my face, the new charger srt with the 6.1 it's fun and nice to drive but it just lacks that seat of the pants hold on for your life feeling that can bring a smile to any gearheads face.

  3. in 1973 i bought  70 charger with a hemi in it,it was something to drive, this one was setting on a car lot that someone had traded in when gas first went up for the first time,i paid 2500 for it which was really high at the time,it was something to drive, it would nail to to the seat when you stomped it down to the floor in any gear,it also liked gas really good as i soon learned, about ten miles to the gallon was tops on it,and on what i was making a week i couldn't afford to keep it,but i had some fun with it,i scared a lot of people that rode with me,i had one guy down in the floor almost begging me to let off of it,he didn't even want to see the road,i got clocked in it doing about 128 miles per hour, lost my license for month and got fined 500 bucks for evading an officer, basically i was out running him, but  couldn't out run a radio which is what got me caught, they was something to drive, and the one i got to drive wasn't a restored one it was almost like new at the time with about 22 thousand miles on it,you could buy those real cheap back then, every car lot you passed either would have a road runner or a charger setting on it for sale on special price, the wanted rid of the big gas hogs then,if i had only been able to keep those cars i wouldn't be working for a living now id be selling used cars worth a lot of money.good luck

  4. There is no comparison to the feeling you get when you ride or drive in a Hemi, or 440, they drive you back in the seat, with a feeling like taking off in a jet airplane. The closest thing I have found is a light turbocharged Mini mopar (Omni- GLHS) (Goes Like h**l Shelby)

  5. My 66 Charger 440 is a higher performance engine then the factory hemi. It's tons of fun when you get your foot in to it. I love how it sucks you in to the seat. if you have found a number matching 69 charger with a hemi, it is worth the purchase.
