  1. yes there is, try looking at this site to search for auditionshollywood-opportunities(dotcom)

  2. Think about it, why don't you want to get an agent? They don't cost anything-- they make there money by getting you jobs and auditions.. without an agent the only way to get auditions is by word of mouth or the radio, and those are just usually open casting calls which are open to EVERYONE, so it's hard to get a part. Agents have the best source of auditions, and can help you find what your looking for.. most auditions are with agents are private for only people with agents. Think about getting an agent, it will help your career. Good Luck

  3. Yes, there are some auditions you could go to in LA without an agent, but they will be non-paying work. If you're ok with that, get a copy of Backstage and check actorsaccess.com for auditions. There are casting notices for student films, shorts, indies, etc.

As for the auditions for paying gigs on network tv or studio features, you can only get those through an agent and unfortunately it isn't quite so easy to just "hire" one. Not one of them would take someone with no experience. Acting Star has the right idea about the importance of having an agent for a working actor in LA, however she's making it sound like they're easy to get. I know actors who have been in LA for  years pounding the pavement, have great resumes and a good look and are STILL looking for representation!

If you really want to give this a go, I recommend you do your research first and if you love to act so much, then get into some classes and plays to help build your resume first.

  4. At this point in your career, the only auditions you will most likely be able to go to will be open casting calls. These calls are open to the public and the chance that you will get called back for a part is slim, however it does benefit you as an actor to get up and audition anyways.  Make sure you have a great monologue that really showcases your talent and go into audiotion with confidence, knowing that you are a unique individual, and prove to the casting directors that they should hire you.  Until then, continue doing small productions and ooking for an agent if you want to further your acting career. Good Luck!
