well start with this interesting sentence, then kinda say what the whole story is about in like 3 sentences

start with a sentence that will draw your reader into your essay. what you want to do with this is to start with a broad topic that may relate to the reader, than narrow down to discuss your topic.

either that, or you could go for the basic approach: first couple sentences draw the reader in. then, you can do a basic summary of what your essay is on.

Start ind of broad (but still related) and end with a clear, specific thesis sentence which will set up your entire essay. make sure you get more and more specific to your topic til you get to the thesis. don't start with a question or definition.
