  1. Get a bearded dragon. I have one I got about two months ago, and he is so sweet! They love to be held, and can live up to 10 or more years. Mine was about $130 for a medium sized dragon that is still growing, and I think he was well worth the money.  I Keep mine in my room too, and he is very interesting to watch. Hope I helped.

  2. Snakes and lizards are completely different.  We really can't help you out with this more than we have.  You have to make up your own mind which animal would suit what you're looking for in a pet.

The beardie will like to be held, and will eat out of your fingers.  My vote (as if it counted - YOU have to decide) would be for the beardie.  Lizards are more personable than snakes.

But, the beardie needs more in the way of feeding and daily care.  It needs fresh vegetables, fruits and insects daily.  It needs UVB and calcium with D3, as well as reptile vitamins.

Balls are good pets, too.  They tolerate being handled well, and are easier to care for.  They don't need UVB, but you'll still need the vitamins and calcium.  They don't eat as often, and don't have to be cleaned as often (though you do have to keep the water bowl disinfected and clean).

It just depends on how much care you want to provide, and what you want out of a pet.

I love my lizards, but I wouldn't part with any of my snakes, either.  My Ball Python and Dumerils boa are my favorites.

It just boils down to what you want, and why.

I'm sure you'll be happy, whichever you decide to get.

Good luck, and enjoy your pet.

  3. I would go with the ball python.  Alothough beardies are good pets so friendly so nice, ball pythons love to be handled.  They will live for 30+ years. With the new morphs on the market that makes lots of them looking so cool.  Even the normals have awesome markings.  Ball python are like totally reluctant to bite you.  Beardies sometimes do and they can spike you easily.  All this makes ball pythons totally worth the expenses.

  4. I can help GET A BALL PYTHON!!!!! i have one they are lovely!! bearded dragons are nice to but ball pythons are easier to handle! and simple if you need to know ANYTHING about them e-mail me on ( x_nikkinicinoonack_x@hotmail.com) i hope i helped you make your choice !! my friend has a bearded dragon they dont really like being handled that much and if you get a glass tank with a red heat lamp for the python it will look reallly kool as i said snakes love to exsplore so it will guts move round your rist and fingers (e.c.t)

  5. Both like to be handled once they understand you are not a threat.

Ball Pythons definitely win at life spans, living 30-40 years. Bearded Dragons live 8-10 years.

I've had both, and I think they're both cool to have and worth the expenses :)

I don't know which would look nicer in your room, but realize that Bearded Dragons go to the bathroom much more often and it must be cleaned often(i.e. immediately) or it will stink, and they generally need more care. Ball Pythons go less often and it doesn't stink at all.

  6. Ball Pythons: It may be 3-6 feet in length females are usually larger, On average ball pythons 20 - 30 years, although they can live as long as 50 years, Primarily eats rodents such as mice and rats, Small Ball Pythons (16-28 inches) will do pretty well in a ten gallon size enclosure (20x10x12 inches). An absolute minimal cage for an adult Ball Python (30-48 inches) would be a long twenty gallon (30x12x12 inches). A long thirty gallon (36x12x18 inches) or larger enclosure would be better - remember they can easily reach four feet. Provide a hiding place. A half-log is available at pet stores. An empty cardboard box or upside-down plastic container with a doorway cut into one end. Ball pythons need hot, moderately humid cages. A basking spot of 90-100 degrees on one end of the cage should be offered, with the other end of the cage being 75-85 degrees. The humidity should be moderate, 40-60%. Many people aid the humidity by use of a humidity box. This is a plastic shoebox with damp moss inside. A hole is cut into it to allow the snake to go in and out as needed. No special lighting is needed. Balls are nocturnal snakes, spending their days in the wild securely hidden away from possible predators. To make it easier to see your snake during the day you can use a full-spectrum light or low wattage incandescent bulb in the enclosure during the day. Make sure the snake cannot get into direct contact with the light bulbs. They can get seriously burned. Provide a dish large enough for the snake to soak in. Soaking is especially important during sheds.

Bearded Dragon: Average size is 12 to 18 inches long (half of this being its tail),Life span is 3 to 10 years with proper care. Bearded dragons require 30% mixed vegetables and fruits, 70% gut-loaded (recently fed) insects (crickets and mealworms are the best), also provide a multiple vitamin/mineral supplement once or twice a week and calcium daily. Use at least a forty gallon aquarium for housing. Provide a constant supply of clean, fresh, filtered, chlorine-free water in a shallow bowl that cannot be tipped over. Give dragon a light misting shower every other day to keep skin humidified and easy to shed; the tank, however, should never be damp.

  7. Royal python ALL THE WAY...........................

  8. in my opinion a bearded dragon is more unique and cool looking but it really depends on the room how you take care for it if you want it to live a long time. either way both pets are probably worth the experience.
