  1. just be yourself and try not to worry

  2. i know everyone will be saying this, but keep calm

i was so nervous on the day of mine (i passed on 22nd jan first time!)

i had the most awful driving lesson before my test, which got me worried, and as i was on my test route, my legs were shaking for about the first 10 mins, but then i started to relax and concentrate on driving.

a top tip i did was chat to the person examining you, whilst checking your mirrors, ask them questions about their job etc, they will also ask what you do in your spare time (eg college/work etc)

most examiners prefer you to pass the second time as you tend to learn more from the first time on where you went wrong, my friend passed 4th time with only 2 minors, whereas i passed first time with 7minors!

relax, be yourself and don't be afraid to talk. treat them as if they are your driving instructor, or someone who you have known for a while. remember, you are driving them around, so try to make an impression.

stay calm, cool and collected, be confident, focus, and you will pass with flying colours :)

all the best for your driving test and i hope you pass :)

  3. Don't crash! Lol. seriously try to relax, being tense doesn't help.

  4. Definitely wear some short and s**y,and smile a lot with a bit of eye contact.

    Be cool,breath,and appear self assured

  5. Don't get too nervous. You're probably ready to pass it right now so don't overthink it too much and you'll do fine.

  6. Do what all women drivers do and close your eyes, everybody else will drive around you.

  7. Slip the examiner a fifty as you get in the car. Make sure you're casual about it.

  8. DON'T TRY AND GIVE ANY GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL ANY MONEY WHATSOVER.  YOU WILL BE CHARGED AND WILL NEVER SIT A DRIVING TEST IN UK EVER AGAIN.  I had a pupil from Pakistan but born in UK and she kept telling me how her friends had passed their driving test.  I told her never to even think like that.  On her 7th test I was called over and told that my pupil had tried to bribe the examiner.  She was charged and taken to court over it.  As far as I know now she has never sat a test in the uk since ( 2004).

Just be yourself and enjoy it.  Pretent the examiner is not there.  They will help you as much as possible and keep you relaxed.

Just go out there and show them what you can do.  good Luck

  9. 1) Be sure you are ready. Serious test day nerves are usually caused by lack of confidence. If you don’t feel absolutely sure you can do all the examiner will ask, with no help, then somewhere in the back of your mind is the thought it could all go disastrously wrong. If you are driving confidently, with little or no help from your instructor, you are ready for your test - and you will know it! I have found that even the most nervous pupils actually start to look forward to their test when they feel they are ready. Nothing better for calming nerves.

    2) Accept you will be nervous. Look around when you’re in the waiting room before the examiner comes out. All the other candidates are also nervous, it’s inevitable. Some nerves are a good thing - they help to heighten the senses - particularly concentration. If you had no nerves and were to blase, it would be much worse!

    3) Get a good night’s sleep. Don’t stay up late the night before. Go to bed at your usual time and take the Highway Code with you - that’ll put anyone to sleep! But seriously, when you close your eyes, go through some of the manoeuvres in real time in your mind - imagine doing them without your instructor. Go through them as you’ve been taught and go through them perfectly. Take a little ‘mind’ drive as well, it will help you go to sleep and reminds you that you ‘can’ do it. Oh, and don’t forget to have all your documents ready the night before so you are not panicking the next morning,

    4) Book your driving test for mid-morning. Early tests tend to get cancelled in winter because of frost and icy roads. But, most importantly, if you book an early test you may not sleep well the night before because of worrying about oversleeping in the morning. For an early test you may be rushed - this doesn’t put you in a good frame of mind. Also, the traffic is heavier and faster during the early morning rush. There is usually a traffic lull mid morning, this will help you to be relaxed.

    5) Arrive at the test centre in good time. Get there a good ten minutes early. This way you will have plenty of time to park the car in a good position, make sure you have all your documents to hand and go to the loo if necessary. When you are in the waiting room, close your eyes and do a little more ‘mind’ driving - see yourself driving calmly - it’s been proven to work. Try a few deep breathing exercises.

    6) Don’t tell people about your test. If you tell friends and relatives when your test is, you’re just putting extra pressure on yourself. Only tell those that have to know.

    7) The examiner is on 'your' side. Think about it - would you rather tell someone they had passed rather than failed? Examiners are human too - they are hoping you are a good driver who they can pass with flying colours. They don’t want to fail you, honestly. Remember they are your friend.

    8) Do a mock test. A mock test with your instructor will help you appreciate what the real test will be like. It will probably be the first time you drive with no help at all (other than in an emergency). This will highlight any weak areas you have and, provided your mock test was a couple of weeks before your test, will give you time to work on them. This will help your confidence enormously.

    9) A mistake may not be a fail. If you make a mistake on your test, don’t panic. Provided it wasn’t dangerous and the examiner didn’t have to use the dual controls, assume it didn’t fail you. Remember you can make up to 15 minor errors and still pass. If, for example, you stall, deal with it calmly and safely and you will be fine. Only the examiner knows if you have failed - drive as though you will pass and keep concentrating until the examiner tells you the test is over. It’s amazing how many candidates thought they had failed only to be told they had passed!

    10) Think positive. Go to your test looking forward to being told you’ve passed. If you think you are going to fail, you probably will.

  10. The driving test is pretty much like every lesson you've alredy had rolled into one. You already know what to do otherwise your indtructor wouldn't have let you go for your test. All you need to do is use the experience of what you have learned & follow instructions. You will do fine.

  11. The best thing is, if you get a chance, follow a road test in-progress...See where they go, what the roads are like, speed limits, little quirks along the way like pedestrian zones, fire houses, hospitals, schools, etc...That way there are no surprises...Also take a look to see if there are any skill portions of the test for parking, backing, braking, etc...Again, no surprises.

You have to convince the examiner that you know what you're doing and are paying attention to what the examiner is telling you...It's more like driving with a parent next to you telling you where to go...Lastly, make sure the vehicle is clean inside (no junk or clutter) and out and that the vehicle registration, your license (permit) and proof of insurance are in order.

Just relax, breathe easy, focus on what you're doing - you got it made.

    All the best.

  12. One little hint. Do NOT try to drive SLOWER than the speed limit either. You can lose points on that.

  13. just concentrate on doing what you have been learned, dont feel stupid if you wanna say out loud what your gonna do to guide yourself thru the manouvers etc, watch your speed, dont let anyone rush you remember your paying for your test. I had my instructor sit in on my test helped loads.

  14. Aww babe! i had mine 3weeks ago and tbh its not haf as bad as i bet your accepting , bet your shittting it thinking oh no its all gonna go wrong eh? Well if you can drive with your instructor and you have your test soon then you must be a pretty good driver!! you just gotta think i can do it, keep calm and think to yaself no ones watching. ats what i did anyway and it helped alot:D

  15. Keep calm, and relax. All the best for tomorrow, why not let me know it how it went!
