Hi has anyone been to the pontis in hebsby on sea, norfolk?

I think its great yarmouth aswell. What is it like and also how to get thier from london on the train ? thanks x

Well I live in the next village along from Hemsby and have done all my life.

My perception, having known lots of people that work there, is that it is a S**t hole... just like all holiday parks. I'd definitely recommend checking that the week you go doesn't coincide with the Hemsby Rock n Rollers Convention, Hemsby Country and Western Convention or Hemsby Black Week... unless you're black or have no taste at all in music of course... then you might not care.

If you really want to go, you'll need to take the London Liverpool Street Train to Norwich, then the Norwich to Yarmouth Train. From there, you can get the Swift Taxis minibus from the Train Station to Market Gates where you can get a Number 1, 1A or 1B bus to Hemsby. There's even an old wreck of a 1960s bus that they resurrected that goes solely from Yarmouth Market Gates to Hemsby SeaShore in the Summer.

Seriously though... save your money and go to Center Parcs. There's absolutely bugger all to do here. It's just a load of expensive and small chalets, a couple of very small and cold indoor swimming pools, arcades and a crappy beach that gets rained on 4 days out of 5. The worst part of it all is that I live here all year round including the 9 months of the year when everything is closed, the buses stop running and we're just left with the crappy beach, the rain and expensive housing occupied by the Londoners who didn't go home in August.
