Hi has anyone read Watchmen book?Can you please explaine to me what happen because I did not understand?

Hi I just finish reading the Watchmen book & some parts were disturbing & confusing. What happen to Veidt? He lived? What happen to the monster in New York City that Veidt Adrian created it? What happen to Night Owl & Laurie? Why Jon he killed Rorschach?

In the future of the story, Laurie is married & she has blonde hair? I'm confuse dude. Thanks!

Its not a happy ending.  If you want to get more of the lowdown of what happened, I recommend picking up Gibbons' companion to the graphic novel. I haven't read it personally, but I've heard other people say how great it is.  I might try to pick it up.  Gibbons was the penciler on the title.

Veidt gets away with it.  The monster died when it was teleported to New York City, it was considered a terrible tragedy.  The plan worked entirely as Veidt had planned it.  Night Owl and Laurie have to live with the secret, they're in love, its up to the reader to decide what happens from there (happily ever after/crushed by the overwhelming guilt - poisoning their relationship).  Jon killed Rorshach because he was going to tell the world what he knew about Veidt and the monster and everything else.  Jon has become a quantum Superman of sorts.  He is above killing, above everything, to the point that if he kills, it no longer seems to weigh on him at all.  He is superhuman to the point of being inhuman.  He experiences all moments of time through eternity all at once, and yet is able to independently experience all of these moments.  He is not experiencing time as you and I do.  He knows what the ramifications of Veidt;s plan are, and is complicit with them.  Good or bad.  Morality is not an issue with him.
