Hi how do I make myself fearless or confident when you are about to defend yourself?

Hi I am a former Cambodian kickboxer & my trainer or master they never tough me or others kickboxers some discipline or respect. We just train & hit the bag. Maybe I had bad trainers or that's how Cambodian kickboxing is. I do know that karate & martial arts has discipline & respect. I life in L.A. & how can I be confident myself when you are about to fight? Does it make any since?

  1. Let the fear come to you and take advantage of it, fear is a warning and it shows that you're human, trust me once you're 3 or 4 seconds into the fight the fear will turn to adrenaline and you'll be using everything you learned. You can only overcome your fear if you step to it full force.

    I know L.A. Isn't the best place to be around, so watch yourself bud.


  2. generally I find the easiest way to become comfortable with something that you are uncomfortable with is to do it more! Like if you feel that in a fight you wouldn't have the required confidence, spar more in kickboxing or get into a boxing gym. Instead of working on hitting the bags, work more on hitting people in matches and such. It should help raise your confidence a lot.

    if you want to be strong and to stand up for your self you need to learn how to NEVER GIVE UP! and this takes hard work the only way to know that your strong and confident is to see what kind of things you overcame it like... if you set your self a challenge to do 80 push up's and you cant but after a while you do 80 and even more then you know that you WON.

    you won against your self and if you do that then no one in the world could beat you up and say your lame if you give respect to others they will give you back

  4. Have you ever been in a street fight. You could be scared cause you always fought in a controlled way and the street is a whole new thing. If you have a couple street fights and your still scared thats just you. Remember that everyone is scared before a fight. Your scared, hes scared. We are all scared. Some people just don't show it or they have learned to deel with it and or ignore it. Only crasy people truly are not scared. Thats fear is like power cause it will make you more powerful then at any other time. I heard that once A women lifted a car up because her baby was trapped under it and would have died. The same thing that gave her power will give you power.

  5. everyone takes a different path when it comes to mastering their own fear. My suggestion to you is to put yourself in situations that you are afraid of ( with a measure of safety and common sence) and force yourself to do it and from that you will leanr your own way to deal. An example would be if your afraid of hights, go bunjy jumping or sky diving, if your afraid of the water, go scuba diving with an expirienced diver.
