  1. www.maharasthratourism.com

  2. Go for Vodaphone. It shall resolve all ur queries

  3. If it's network, then for Reliance. Local call charges are the same on all netwoks. But it's CDMA, so you do need a handset which is ready of this.

Among the GSM operators, from what I've heard from people known, VODAFONE seems to lead in network quality.

  4. yes

  5. the local sim card seller will advise you, also you have to provide proof of identity, eg. passport ect, also you will probably find it much more economical to use the public phone system, on the other hand you should always have a mobile phone with you for safety  and conveinience, safety being the number one factor.

  6. From your place of domicile/residence before leaving for mumbai contact any dealer or network services and be guided by their view points. Roaming facility is now freely available for many states. It would be convenient and practical to get a sim card from your local dealer and the billing option can be prepaid. If you do not have any existing connection it will be time consuming getting a new sim card and you may waste your presious holidays in followups.

If you have a friend in Mumbai who can loan you his connection or his mobile it will be the best. But than why not be independent and have your own connection. That would be worth your efforts and you will have the mobility to roan about freely and  be connected to your friends and family.
