I'm an illegal immigrant, but have a current valid mexican passport, can i travel to hawaii (and back) with it (i don't have a US driver's license). do you know of people who have traveled to hawaii only with a valid mexican passport with no visa, (and no US driver's license)?

  1. Does your passport have a valid visa??? if not... I'm sorry amigo, but you won't be coming back to the USA, if you do not have a valid visa you cannot go to puerto rico, hawaii, virgin island even though they are part of the united states, you have to leave land to go to them (in puerto rico you have to pass international waters) so............. NO TE VALLAS!!!!!

  2. In regards to the previous answer, im not entirely sure on the validity of that, theres no checking of passports when flying to u.s. territories. to fly to puerto rico i know that all this is checked is a valid ID, usually drivers license. Assuming that the process is the same for hawaii & knowing that you dont have valid state id, i would advise not to fly to hawaii from the united states.  I  know that for non-americans to fly within the 48 continental states all that is needed is the valid state issued id, im not sure if the same goes for hawaii and alaska but im pretty sure it may. once again..wouldnt recommend flying there without the ID. SHOULD YOU BE ABLE to get that ID, then it sounds like a good idea, but talk to someone whos done it before you go off, dont want to get locked away by US customs -.-

as far as the passport, i really dont know whether itd be a wise idea to try and use it or not. IT IS a form of government issue ID and in theory it would work, but if you live somewhere where the people are not to friendly to foreigners then you may not want to use it as it may be a red flag for them to investigate further into how you happen to be on american soil, and seeing how you dont have a visa, the case wouldnt be too strong for you.  racism bites :/
