  1. go for peel hall in wythenshawe! on the private estates! the schools are okay send your kids to st. james Catholic high school as it gets fantastic grades and they have fantastic teachers! if they are going to primary school send them to chc primary or st. Elizabeths! didsbury has a big nightlife and big roads that sre not good for kids, there are regular trains that run to manchester from everywhere stated

  2. South Manchester is really ok. Didsbury is like, up the road from me and half my friends are from there and they don't carry guns about :P

Beaver Road and Broad Oak nd I'm sure some of the others are really nice, producing some really sweet kids. Parrs Wood High School might not have the best rep at the moment, but I don't think it really reflects on the kids to be honest. They're still a really privileged school with tons of funds and facilities. And of course, they'll be working twice as hard to get themselves back up there and it'll be twice as good.

Didsbury is definitely one of the more upmarket parts of Manchester, especially if you look into West Didsbury. Now I've lived in Burnageso I know the kind of thing you're talking about and there's not of that there. Really, don't worry.

  3. move to TRAFFORD

    STRETFORD in particular

    we love everyone :D

  4. Didsbury is lovely I grew up there.  Broad oak Country Primary School was the school I attended.  Very safe and nice for the kids.  Fletcher Moss Park is amazing to explore, and Didsbury park for swings and slides.  Great community feeling too...you will love it there.

  5. Well didsbury is nice but REALLY expensive and in the main state schools the catchment area is often including the rougher areas of south Manchester where gun and knife crime is rife. North Manchester gets more stick but is actually very nice areas such as Worsley, Prestwich and prices are a lot cheaper. Plus there is hardly any knife and gang crime.

Manchester is a great place to grow up for kids, and a great place to live.

    Good Luck

  6. Didsbury will be your best option if you have the money. Its a lovley area and i lived there for the best part of 6 years growing up. But i have also lived in Stockport. Which isnt to bad, i have moved around stockport a h**l of a lot, places like Bramhall are nice.

If you have the money i would def move to didsbury, it really is nice around there, but things are pricey.

Stockport is south Manchester bordering Cheshire. That really isnt bad, i live there now.

Try Gatley or Didsbury i would say if you have the cash.

Cheadle is lovley too, i have lived there :)

    Good luck!

Def dont go up to the North of Manchester though, its really not a nice place to bring up kids in.

  7. Manchester is extremely rough and was voted in 2007 as the 17th worst place to live in the whole UK out of 434 boroughs.

Moving to such a rough area is grossly irresponsible on your part towards the welfare of your children, so much so that I'd regard it as child abuse.

  8. Any particular area in mind as even the south of Manchester is quite big and standards differ from area to area.

Hi well VP is a predominantly appartment based area and so attracts young couples proffessionals etc. Whereas Didsbury is a nice family orientated area and the better of the two for your needs
