Do you want to work with domestic or exotic animals? At 14, I don't believe that you would be old enough to hire on, but there are plenty of volunteer opportunities out there. (I'm in my 40's and started volunteering at our Zoo when I was 15. Next month will be my 18th yr. anniversary as a keeper.)

Check with local animal shelters, dog pounds and rescue groups. Non-profits always can use extra hands and you make a big difference in those animals' lives! If you have a local Zoo, call their Volunteer/Docent office and ask what kinds of programs they have for teenagers. When you work with animals, it's often thought of as "Wow, that's so cool" & "Man, I'd love to have your job!"- it is great but not glamorous- but if your into hard work & lots of responsibilities go for it! I don't think you can get a job until your 16, maybe you can volunteer somewhere...there might be an age restriction on that too.

If you cant volunteer, bother your neighbors to let you walk/ train there dog, stuff like that. Or if you live out in the country try getting you and your parents to talk to some ranchers about being a helping hand, that's what I did when I was your age.
