Hi i am a medical student doing my internship in local hospital.?

i have to do 12 weeks in surgery &12 weeks in medicine. i have done 4 weeks in medicine & now i want to stop medicine & do surgery for 12 weeks & then finish 8 weeks of medicine. can i do it or should i finish whole medine first and then go for surgery.
