  1. she is still scared, dont worry, be patient.

she will come out when she is ready. just keep leaving her alone besides to try and give her treats

she will come around on her own.

  2. hi! i got a hamster a few days ago also.. and the frst week! she nevr rlly came out and explored.. it says in stores and hamster magazines that sometimes it mite evn take up to 2 weeks! b4 a hamster can get use to its new surroundings..i mean coming from a petstore or breeder to a car with new smells and then to a new home and cage with prbly more accesries IS  alittle frightning.. if ur hamster doesnt come out withn the 3 weeks i would deffntly contact the breeder the petsore or wrevr u got it from (or the vet) sorry if it wasnt much help hav fun tho!!

  3. Well... hamsters are essentially different from cats and dogs in one way: They don't crave your company.

A hamster will be perfectly happy couped up in his little hidey hole unless he wants food, water or a run on his hamster wheel.

Tapping on his cage will not really make him come out.

It may actually have the opposite effect and scare him into staying in hiding.

If you want to see your hamster outside, going around in the cage, you may want to try putting a couple of tasty treats in his cage - and definitely a hamster wheel. Then give him some time to come out and explore.

After you have him for a while, he'll get more comfortable around you.

You might be able to get him out of his cage, hold him and even let him hang out in your pocket.

But for now, your hamster is still new and probably scared. Give him some time and he'll come out.

  4. Some hamsters are scared when they first move in. My hamster was just like that. Hamsters like to sleep during the day, so leave it alone during the day. My hamster stills stays in his 'coop', and only gets out to run on his wheel, eat, drink, or walk around/stretch. Check on your hamster at night, like before you go to bed or around that time....it might be out around that time because i think hamsters are a bit nocturnal. Do that and let her see you. If she  sees you mean no harm, she will get more and more comfortable with you. After a FEW WEEKS.....try hold your hamster for short periods of time, like 30 seconds or less, so it gets used to ur scent and knows you are no harm to it. Dont hold it for any longer becuase it could get uncomfortable and bite. Getting bit isnt always fun....but it doesnt hurt that bad

Dont tap on the cage. Hamsters may get more scared if you do that becuase theyr ears are very sensitve and sudden noises scare them.

Let your hamster get used to the enviorment first. It shud loosen up and start coming out a little more. It also depends on how much hiding places u have for ur hamster. If it likes its hiding/sleeping place, it might stay there for a long time. For my hamster, he just has a plastic house thing and LUVS it.

Eventually, the hamster will get comfortable and come out.

  5. She may be timid - is there too much noise around the cage?  Kids poking their fingers in?  Place her somewhere quiet, leave her a few days but talk to her so she recognizes your voice.  When she eventually pops her head out DO NT pick her up straight away and the same goes for is she comes out for a run round the cage.  Let her build up her confidence with you.

  6. Your hamster is still new to her surroundings. Hamsters take some time to get used to their new environment and this is the reason she is sticking in her nest for the past three days. Give her a week and she should become alright, once she gets used to the new sounds and smells, she will come out and start exploring the cage on her own. Just make sure you hang around the cage often and speak softly to her during this time so that she would get used to your smell and sounds.

  7. she is scared give her a week or so and try not to tap on her cage it will scare her more... GOOD LUCK..

  8. if you are tapping the cage while it is sleep you are making a terrible mistake  never try to wake a sleeping hamster as this will anger this hamster and therefore it will not come out

    hope this helps
