My engine over heated and i blew the head gasket and when i tore the engine down not only did i blow the head gasket but i cracked the head too so got new heads and gaskets and put it all back together and the engine would not start but it cranked over but just wouldn't fire up. and the only thing i did not put back was a sensor that went on the side of the head because it stayed on my old head. all i did was put a plug where the sensor would be. o.k. now i put gas directly in the fuel injectors and the car kicked right over but just burned the lil bit of gas i poured in then shut off. so if anyone knows about cadillacs could they tell me if that sensor would cause my fuel pump not to receive power untill that sensor is pluged in.

  1. Dang...  It could be a crank-shaft position sensor.

Without it, your computer won't know where your pistons are, and therefore won't know when to send fuel to each cylinder....

But that's just a guess man. A SOLID guess.. but a guess nonetheless.
