Hi i have a whirlpool dishwasher with a fault,?

when i switch on the start light flashes and beeps,the dishwasher wont start but sounds like it is trying to empty ,any help ta

It sounds like it is not getting water.  First check if the supply is turned on, next check if the line is blocked.  Do this by disconnecting the supply to the DW and bleed some water out.

The last easy thing is to test the solenoid valve, this is where the water enters the DW and has an electrical connection to open the valve when the DW asks for hot water.  They can get clogged up or just quit working.

If your dishwasher is fairly new you can pull off the toe kick and access the tech sheet attached to the toe kick.  You can then get a pretty good idea of what is going on with your d/w.

if u got warrenty card get it repaired.

it may be the motor brushes worn down or perhaps a blockage in the waste water side if you do not know what to do then call some one out who does, ask around amongst friends to find a recommendation
