  1. The glow of the sky overpowers the stars other than the sun.  You could see them during the day if one was bright or close enough, but there are none in our part of the galaxy.  Although if you know where to look and have good enough eyes you can spot venus during certain times of the year

  2. Stars are not visible during the middle of the day because of the diffraction of sunlight in the Earth's atmosphere. The only way you would be able to see stars at noon is if there was a solar eclipse. The umbra of darkness would allow the stars to shine in the middle of the day.

    I hope you never see a supernova that is visible during the day, because that might put the planet at some risk, depending on how close the supernova is...

  3. how about at the north or south pole when it is dark or light for days at a time.

  4. How about Sol, our star? Not that I would look at it. I though maybe it was trick question.

    The stars are visable in radio light day or night. They might be visable during a solar eclipse.

    I have heard of a supernova being visable during the day for a few weeks.

    How about noon on the north pole at the winter solstice? I believe the sun doesn't rise at all for a few weeks.

  5. Under certain conditions, yes, it's possible.  At high altitudes with extremely clear weather, there's less scattering of sunlight, and with a well-designed telescope, it's possible to view stars during the day.  The strategic bombers use star-trackers, which are precision telescopes that view stars, for determining their position without inertial instruments or GPS, and these star trackers work day or night, but, the bombers are generally flying at more than 40,000 ft.

  6. weird. i have never seen stars at noon. i thought it was too bright! but u CAN see the moon! ;}
