Hi i have had my green anole (lenny) for about 10 days now and it has only ate 1 cricket ?

He is also brown about 90 percent of the time whys this?

help please!!!!!!!!

  1. He is very stressed (that is why he is brown). Some of the reasons are that the habitat is not large enough, there is not enough UVB light, or there is not enough basking light. If you have all of these, try feeding him live crickets or live mealworms. Live animals get their attention to food better.

  2. Anoles have the ability to change colors, normally ranging from green to brown. The color is nothing to worry about.

    He could still be in shock from the transition into his new habitat. Give him more time to adjust. It;s also possible he has eaten more than that and you haven't noticed.

    He might not want to eat anything if he is being stared at. I would feed him (multiple crickets) and then leave the room for about half an hour before coming back and taking a look.

    The crickets might be too big. Ask the person in the pet store for pinhead crickets, or the smallest ones he has.
