Hi i have just bought some black boy seeds and would like when to plant them?

Xanthorrhoea seeds get good results but can take 4 - 52 weeks to germinate.  For X. australis and X. drummondii cold storage 4 deg C for 10 weeks  greatly improves results and quickens germination.  Light inhibits germination with X. australis and X. johnsonii.  In southern Australia sow in late winter.  CAn be sown under existing understorey plants.

This info from a book called Growing Australian Native Plants from Seed by Murray Ralph.  Might be worth chasing up if you want to grow more Australian natives from seed.  Good luck.
