Blackboy's are a native australian plant found in the bush, they are a very beautiful plant and are very slow growing.  

They basically look like a big black bottle brush hence the name.

They are not classed as a weed in Australia.

The plant is called a Xanthorrea. Black boy is a translation from an Aboriginal tribe's name for the plant.

It's not another name for "grass". Although another name for it is Grass Tree LOL.

But what I'd suggest is to plant them now and make your own mini glass house until it gets warmer. It's probably too cold now for them to germinate properly.

Pretty sure these are actually called xanthorea.  Try looking that up for planting details.  Hope this helps. Never seen as seeds, only as established small plants in pots at nursery.
