  1. there are many easy ways in which you can advertise yourself.

firstly i would start with flyers, and leaflets, give them out in town post them through letter boxes, even give them something free with it, like a coupon or a pen, i know it sounds silly but people are more likely to take notice when you give them something for nothing.

Start a competition in which a person can "win" one of your parties at there home, or something along that idea, then your promoting yourself and getting people involved, again you could do this in town.

if youve got a website, advertise it on other websites, it doesnt cost much, again the same in local newspapers or magazines.

another idea is to decorate your car, brightly so it will catch your eye, with a telephone number or the name of your company, alternatively put a sticker in your back window if you dont want to decorate your car

it could be really fun, get all your friends involved, get them to tell their friends, and them to tell their friends

just be friendly and fun, and you really are sure to go far :)

    good luck xxxx

  2. Start locally, and gradually enlarge your circle outwards by way of this local launch.  I used the method given in the site below, which  instantly increased my traffic.

Although this site is intended for web site users it works equally well with land based businesses.  Give it a try, you should be well surprised and pleased.

    Best of luck.

  3. Look at the big picture first.

What's the image you want to portray to your customers?

Are you the swanky and saucy lingerie consultant, or are you the  neighbor across the street that sells underwear?

    Who are your customers?

Are you targeting stay at home moms with no time to shop, or young gals in their 20's and 30's that are looking for a s**y neglige?

(doesn't mean you can't sell to both, but pick a focus)

What's the end result you'd like to achieve from your business?

Do you want it to remain a small scale business or are you wanting to be the high powered-go get em-make you hot lingerie consultant that's booked out months in advance?

Now that you have THAT figured out.... it should be easier to see how you're going to  get where you want to go.

If you want to be seen as that swanky consultant, advertising on green flyers probably isn't going to get you there.

But maybe sending out cards on black card stock with hot pink writing will you get a little closer.

I actually have a client that is a lingerie store front and we do mirror/mint tins for them that are inexpensive but amazing. The silver tins have a cute lace bra on the top and inside is a mirror. They can refill with their mints when they run out and all the stores information is on the back. What a way to stay in front of your client!!! Not to mention when someone else sees it, they of course ask where they got it from and there you go, word of mouth wins again!

Be creative. Keep your image in mind. And dare to be different!

    Good luck!

  4. You probably want people in your immediate locality so probably the most effective thing to do is to slip the paperboy/girl say 10 Euros to drop leaflets with the local papers.

I don't know what your commission rate is but I would put a coupon on the bottom of the leaflet giving say 10% off first month.  That way you've some sort of idea how effective your advertising has been.

As one of the others have said, a poster in the back of your car costs nothing.

You don't say who you're working for but if you've got a "range" of goods you could market different things to different people.  ie if you've got a range of tasteful underwear fit to take to  a womens group (WI etc) then you could approach them with that.

But then if there are ranges that are better suited to adult magazines then approach adult clubs.

I would imagine your local pub might want in on the act.  A "women only" room once a month might bring people out drinking who wouldn't normally go.  Then when it's all died down a bit go out and work the bar trying to convince men to buy stuff for their partners!  You may laugh but I've seen it done before.

Setting up a market stall might be cheaper than you think.  Keep stuff permanently for sale on e-bay.
