Hi i need some help , my pocket bike's chain keeps coming off when i ride it and how can i tighten the chain?

my pocket bike is a 2 stroke 49cc and its all good i like it but the chain keeps coming off every time i ride it and when i shut the fuel switch and pull the throttle with the bike off the fuel leaks out , is that normal and please how can i tighten the chain if thats the problem and how would i know if its tight enoguh?

  1. Everything Guard just said sound bang on to me.

    Simple note to take, and so many people get this simple point wrong.

    Make sure you tighten the wheel back in straight. You see little "check" markers on the swing arm, these will guide you. Pocket bike or not, no harm getting a measuring guide out to tdouble check.


  2. Remove the carburetor, disassemble and clean it with carburetor cleaner (available at auto parts and motorcycle shops).

    There's probably some dirt in the float seat preventing the float needle from stopping the fuel entering the float bowl.

    Without knowing the year, make and model # of your bike, I can only suggest that you loosen the rear axle and pull the rear wheel back to tighten the chain.
