Hi i need to know my ideal cardio training pulse?

hi im 41 used to weigh around 106 kilos ,ive changed my life style into healthy eating and exersize now after 1month im down to around 90 kilos i feel so much fitter but now my question is since im starrting to enjoy running i wouled like to know what my ideal maxim pulse rate shouled be to archive good cardio exersize to avoid having a heart attack and what do you recon is a good resting pulse rate shouled be for my age thanks all

  1. The basic way to work it out is 220-your age is your 100% maximum. Then just work out the desired training ranges from there..eg 50-60% of max - for fat burning etc.

    Alternatively, take the Havard Step Test and work out your training values from there.

    Just suggestions though, best thing is go to a trained instructor after a medical at your family doctor.
