i would like a fabric store like MOOD'S but it is in AMERICA, too far away

If you are in Singapore, U may want to try this place called Joo Chiat.  It sells many types of fabric.  Althought that place is by the Malay Community enclave, there are many other visitors there for fabric too.

Alternatively,, for huge quantity, you may go to beach road/jalan sultan... tat is Textile Distributor area...

I discourage procuring fabric from web... no feel and touch...

It depends on your need and budget. If you can afford, Spotlight has various fabrics and material, sometimes they go on discounts too and do remember to get yourself registered for the VIP memberships for further discounts.

Alternatively, you could try malaysia but mostly the fabrics are not as attractive but still usable.

If your business is huge, i would suggest going for some textile fairs in china. Oct there is a Canton Fair in Guangzhou and end august there is a shanghai textile fair in the heart of shanghai but the minimums of the fabric are usually 2000m per colour per design and usually they do not entertain singaporeans thinking the market is small, they prefer Americans and Aussies
