Hi i was in the mall and one of my friends stole while i was with him.?? What are the consequnces for me??

while were in the bay in canada my friend (1) said he was going to try on a belt. So me (2) and my other friend 3 wanted to ditch this guy. So wile friend 1 was by the changing room i (2) ran up to give him a pair of jeans to try the belt on with. So when we try to run away and go pay for our stuff. We see him come back to us.. So all of us walk out of the bay. And as were out 2 people come but handcuffs on me (2) they take us to a room. They ask me 2 and friend 3 wat happened. We both en edd telling the same story (about trying to ditch etc.). Then the 1 person asked me what happend:: i sasaidhat i gave him the pants to give us more time to ditch him etc. Then 1 of the guy looks at my wallet and takes my school id (just has my name and school) and then 5 min later he comes back with his other girl that handcuffed me,,, and they gave me my stuff and told me that the would let me off with a warning (if i recall) and that i shshouldn'tang out with friend 1. then they let me 2 and friend 3 away..

I never stolen before...(and i still never have) (i told them)

I just want to know what will happen.

Like will this go on a pepermanentecord or something?

if he let you off with a warning you are fine but next time you will probably be an accesory to a stealing.

they said they would let you off with a warning... so you shouldn't have to worry that much.

you aren't as guilty as "number 1".

but you still are guilty by association.

Make sure your parents know...

If its not your fault and you tell them the story of what happened they wont be mad at you but they'll worry on what happened with your other friends and why you hung out with them and blah...

Usually if they tell you they'll let you off with a warning they'll ...probably let it go with just that and if they let you go then I wouldn't worry...

Don't let those type of friends get you down your too cautious  to go to jail if your the right kind of person rigth  things will go your way..

As long as you told them the truth.  They probably have it on tape anyway. This was a warning, there are no records kept on warnings.  As long as you keep your nose clean, stay in and finish school you will be ok. As long as you did not get arrested and taken to the police station you are cleared.  As long as your friend (1) does not say that you were involved you have been cleared.

It wont go on any record they let you off with a warning probably because you and "friend 3" told the truth and had your stories straight. I would take the security guards advice and not hang out with friend 1 anymore. Next time you may get in trouble.

If you are carrying the merchandise or anything that wasnt paid for-yes.

But if you are just walking beside them, and they gets caught, then you shouldnt.

But they could get you for knowing about it.

I wouldnt go with them for the mall.
