  1. Buy "Brush Clear" I am not sure who makes it but it gets rid of bushes and other large plantings you don't want.

  2. A nettle plant can be pulled up using thick gloves.  Some root will remain unless dug up, so if it grows again put it on your compost heap.  Nettles are good compost activators.

  3. Most any broadleaf weedkiller should do the trick. Or even roundup, just make sure to not get roundup on anything you want to keep because its kills all vegetation.

  4. Your home improvement center will have a variety of brush killers on the shelf in spray bottles ready to go. Read the label and pick the one that appeals to you.  Take it homje and spray the shoots as they start to come up. By summers end, the stump will be dead.

  5. A nettle isn't a bush, it's a perennial weed that can easily be pulled up wearing gloves. If it looks like a bush with a woody stem it isn't a nettle.

  6. Use roundup (glyphosate) which is a systemic weedkiller.  If you use a contact one, it will kill sthe green leaves but leave the roots alive and the nettle will come up again.  SYstemic killers translocate into the roots and kill them too.  They inactivate on contact with soil, so no toxic residues either.
