can i take canada tourist visa and go over there for a weekend and come back the same week.

Depending of the country where you are from you might not even need to have a visa.

However, when you leave the US make sure to give your I-94 paper that is inside your passport to the US immigration or airline company. Like this the US immigration can control who is getting out and in the country. If not they give you problem when you get back in US.

Anyways, no matter which visa you have in US or where you coming from you just need to make sure you have the tourist visa if it applies to you (see link above).
