Freeview dongles sound great but in reality you might as well get a Freeview box; the dongle will only work well with a proper arial (and even then it won't be as good as a box).  I've given up on the dongle idea myself after looking into it on several occasions.

Possibly, but it all depends on the reception levels in your area.  I have one that works great with the roof-top aerial, but I've never got it to work with the scabby little thing they give you in the box.
