  1. Nowhere at 18 years of age and with an attitude unconciously expressed her you are an accident looking for somewhere to happen. you have been lucky so far

  2. You aren't going to like this, but here goes anyway. I am much older than you and have driven small cars to large vans.  I worry that you are disatissfied with the power of your car.  It shouldn't  matter if you are indeed a good driver.  Your engine should be more than capable of the performance you require, whilst being easy on fuel.  If you really want a larger engine, you will be severely penalised on your insurance, unless you go on as a second named driver, and the car may possibly be more of a target for theft.  Ask yourself why you really want a more powerful car.  It does not mean that you are a better driver, only perhaps a more lavish spender.

  3. Find one that you like and can see the specs i.e. Engine size and everything else. Then goto www.confused.com and/or www.gocompare.com and do a quote. You don't need to own the car to do this. At the end it would give you a list of who will insure you and there prices, and what they would offer you. I've did this a few times before buying a car. It really does help.

  4. hi, i would say that keep this car for now and keep checking the insurance quotes on go compare's website.

    good luck

  5. You need to buy an MG magazine and/or talk to the MG owners club (maybe join if they have discounted insurance). It's always wise to go this route as the deals are usually much better than the high street.

I had a racing Mini (highly modified). Was quoted over £400 with a mainstream company. £120 fully comp with a specialist in Mini insurance.

Would suspect that at 18 years old though, even a good deal will be very expensive. Good luck.

  6. an MGF is for hairdressers, old people, and is camper than a row of pink tents

oh and watch out for the top quality Rover engineering, as its fitted with a Rover 'K' series engine the head gasket is bound to blow atleast once in its lifetime

  7. Ouch! It's gonna be dear.....

but consider insuring for 3rd party only, take off any extra's like breakdown cover, tell them you drive less than 5,000 miles. Try Tesco Value Car Insurance.

  8. It'll cost a fortune not only in insurance but extra for petrol and repairs etc, Keep the 1 litre and take your bike test instead much more rewarding and a lot cheaper.

  9. Try:

    http://www.moneysupermarket.com

    http://www.confused.com

    http://www.uswitch.com

  10. I hope you've got plenty of money, the insurance people don't like "young people" in sports cars, an mgf 1.8 will cost you over £2500.

  11. Insurance is going to hurt.

If you're sure you're going to go for a sports car, have a look at the Mazda MX5 instead.

Top Gear says it's the best 'British' sports car you can get.

Yes, Mazda is Japanese, but it displays all the traits that made the best classic British sports cars what they are.

  12. you should go to http://fsturl.com/BC and if you enter your information into the form, they'll give you a quote from different companies and you can compare the different prices for different services. it saves you a looooot of time. i ended up saving about 250 dollars a year.

  13. 18 + MGF does NOT equal cheap insurance, I'm afraid.

  14. Call around, get quotes. You need to do some leg work on this because each company will look at

your record and intended vehicle differently. See this http://gsx1.com/InsuranceComparison.html it's one form to get a number of quotes from

    different insurers.
