No. Don't cash the check. If it bounces you will be out $1,500.00. Besides the obvious pitfalls, they will receive back the negotiated check with all your bank account info clearly printed on it.  Then, they have full access to your account. Even if the check doesn't bounce, having your account information allows them to check your balance and when it seems worth it, they can drain it.

That's just the tip of the iceberg.

Never, ever participate in anything you didn't generate.

There is nothing wrong with hanging onto the check until you have fully investigated the source. If you haven't any business with this organization, chances are it's a scam.

find out if Red Oak Capital Management is a "real" Business. and if it is, lucky you cash the check and then find out why they sent it to you. in that order. it was probably their mistake if they are for real but if not enjoy the money.
