I think that depends mostly on what you LIKE to do!

If you like to party, there is the "barrio" which is the oldest part of town located at the base of the castle.  It is full of bars, restaurants, galleries and some shops.  It's jumpin' later at night!

If you enjoy history, go up to the castle!  El Castillo de Santa Barbara was built by the Moors.  There are also various museums you could visit.

If you like to go shopping, there's the standby "Corte Ingles" and lovely shops on and around the "calle Mayor".

About 90km away is the town of Villajoyosa where you can tour the Valor chocolate factory.  It smells and tastes delicious!
