  1. London is a very cosmopolitan area and people of all ages wear anything, and everything imaginable.  Just bring what you are comfortable with...no one will take the slightest bit of notice!

  2. You could walk down the street in London wearing a trash bag or potato sack and probably not get many odd looks.  It's very diverse and people wear all styles.  But even though you are going in summer I would pack lots of layers.  I like convertible pants (those that roll up and fasten to Capri length) and some days that look dreary you may want to carry a light sweater or sweatshirt that can be tied around your waist.  Even in summer the weather in London can change unexpectedly.  It’s not uncommon to experience a range of temperatures and precipitation in one day.  That being said, buy a really small umbrella that you can carry in your purse (or clip to your belt if you’re not carrying a purse or bag).  I have one from totes with a little case with a clip.  Also keep some sunglasses in there just in case the sun peeks out!  And definitely pack comfortable shoes if you will be doing a lot of walking.  Have a great trip!

  3. Pack a load of clothes incase you fall into the river.
