  1. There are no varsity teams, well atleast good ones, that have anyone on their team that underhand serves!!

  2. no one uses the under hand serve when they play varsity...

    1. it floats too much and gives the other team too much time to react

    2. no chance for a free poin ace..

    BUT

make sure your hand hold the ball level. DO NOT THROW THE BALL IN THE AIR. let your other hand make contact with the ball as you swing up. point and maintain the direction of the middle of your body to maintain direction of ther serve

  3. When you do an overhead serve toss it up just above ur head, lean back, and smack it with your hand.  snap your wrist to add some spin on it.  Easiest serve would be a floater.  toss the ball in front of you, maybe 2 feet above ur head and hit it like ur giving someone a high five.

  4. ive never heard of underhand serving on a varsity team

  5. overhand serving...

give yourself a nice toss: not too high and not too low so that you don't have time to swing your arm.

keep the toss in front of you. Although you do want to somewhat arch your back, you don't want to do it to an extreme unless you are going for a topspin jump serve.

for me, sometimes i take a step forward, toss and then swing. If you decide to do this though, make sure your step does not go on the line.

like the first person said, don't be afriad to just power hit the ball. Get it over first. If you find the ball is hitting the net, you are probably letting the ball going too low.

  6. toss high. if your right handed, keep your left leg in front or vice versa if your left handed. swing through fully. till you hand has come to your hip. hit it hard.

  7. get the ball right in front of your face, somewhat walk into it, and SMACK IT HARD ! also dont forget to snap !

  8. when you overhand serve, make sure your toss is high..you contanct the ball at the point where your hand is stretched out the heighest..no bent elbows..open hand..follow through with your hand when you hit the ball...dont twist your body..make sure you dont hit the ball if its behind you..always hit the ball when its infront of you..and dont be afraid to use power.

    idk if that helps

its hard to explain a serve online..ask one of your coaches to show you

  9. there are basically two under arm serves ,spin and the normal . just toss the ball a bit and hit the lower three-fourth portion of the ball for normal.and for spin rub the hand right from under the ball.whatever serve u do take care that u either serve to the back or in between the front and the back, never serve to the front.

  10. With an underhand serve, be sure to hold the ball out in front of you and hit it with one controlled motion (I always hit the ball with my forearm, almost as if I were passing with one arm).  Angle your arm in the direction you want the ball to go.  It's not too difficult, you'll get it.  Usually, it's overhand serving people have trouble with.

  11. Hey, I had this problem but now i average about 6-7 aces per game. one of the probles is your probably tossing the ball too high, you only want to toss the ball up so it is in the air for 3 sec untill inpact. Be sure your using your abs and flex your arm for a ferm hit. Make sure your slightly below the bottom half of the ball dont go too close to the bottom or you will never get it at the right hight when the ball is going over the net. O one last thing aim for just over the net (4 foot max). so take all of this and slam some aces.....good luck!
