  1. If you are looking to find a cat at a shelter that is white, the costs will be modest, and likely under $100.  But, when you add up the additional costs for food, vet coverage, spay or neuter, vaccinations, litter and accessories, the first year could easily come to $500-600.

Simply put, the costs don't stop once you get the kitten home.

  2. its always expensive, like around 700$ and up

its better if you just adopt

or when a friend's cat has kittens, ask for one!

remember that cats are a lot harder to take care of then it seems. so make sure your prepared!

  3. If you want a pedigree kitten, expect the unexpected!

I bought my cat 2 1/2 years ago from a pet shop, for £60.  She is completely black, but just a bog standard domestic.  (Gorgeous all the same!)

If you can, try and adopt a kitten from a vet or a shelter.  Much cheaper, you'll be doing a good deed and kittens are easier to mould than older cats. You may even find a white one in amongst the litters! Good if you have children!

    Good luck!

Guy below me got it in one.  If indeed you dont already have exp. at looking after cats, you have to consider the cost of keeping one healthy and happy.  White cats are desirable, but any colour cat will have the same aftercare.

  4. Check out your local pound. There are so many unwanted kittens you never know what you'll find there. Adoption fees are usually less than what you would pay a breeder and you'll be doing a good deed.

  5. Go to a shelter and you should find one.  You'll have to pay whatever their adoption fee is but that will include shots and maybe even spay/neuter.  White cats are popular but not all that rare, it shouldn't be too tough to find one.  You can call ahead and ask a few if they have any and what they charge.  The adoptions can range in price by quite a bit depending on your area and whether or not they've already fixed the kittens.

The only pure white kitty I ever had was a domestic long hair one we found under a car as a little kitten but I've seen them in shelters and foster organizations pretty often.

  6. You can get lovely kittens at your local shelter and the cost is always very reasonable.

Kittens can go to their new homes at 8 weeks and that's fine for a kitten who caged and in a shelter without it's mother.  But if you find a kitten that is still with it's mother, 12 weeks or older is better.  Lots of Mom time and playtime with siblings.  An older kitten is better adjusted, usually is litter box trained and able to handle new situations with more confidence.

Don't forget to have your new little spayed or neutered.

    Good luck!
