Hi I am trying to use the TOSLINK cable on HDTV & Xbox 360 in able to have 5.1 sound. Ok I connect the TOSLINK cable to the HD AV adapter into the little square port & I need to connect the TOSLINK end cable on the back on the HDTV. But, I can't find the fiber-optic output on the back of my HDTV? Do I have to buy something? Thank you!

  1. use white and red rca out's, just run the tv to receiver via composite out and 360 optic to receiver because it desreves the quality sound, it has better outputs, they do make rca to optic converters though, but they cost a bit.

  2. Check if the s/pdif output on your TV is coax (RCA plug) or maybe it is covered by a tiny plastic cup.

If it is coax, most AV receiver have both coax and optical s/pdif inputs.

  3. i Really wasn't trying to fix your grammer, :)

    no hard feelings
