  1. That's too much solid food and not enough milk. He should be having 5 bottles a day with a bit less in each one so that his intake is spread through the day. A 6 month old should only be having one small solid meal a day (up to 2 tbsp). At 9 months, he should be having 3 small meals a day. Until 12 months, most of a baby's nutrients should come from breastmilk/formula.

  2. It's something like a minimum of 20 ounces of milk a day, up until baby is a year old, so his milk intake is fine. It's best to introduce extra meals at a steady pace - we had baby on 1 meal for about 2 weeks, then added another meal for another 2 weeks, then went to 3 meals. She's now quite happily on 3 meals a day. Your baby will let you know if he wants to move on to another meal, look for similar signs to when he was first ready for weaning - hungry more often, getting restless and unsettled between meals.

  3. depends on when you started weaning him. by 6-8 weeks into weaning you should be giving 3 small meals a day, gradually increasing amounts. by 9 months it should be 3-4 tablespoons. i recommend this book
