Hi need help for Legend

Hi need help for Legend of Spyro - Eternal Night. Have got to the four temples and in each one there is a small spiderand just beyond it a locked door. Nothing seems to hurt the spider, but it seems that it is the link to unlocking the door. Does anyone know what to do please.
