  1. Most things I don't mind the generic brands but I will only eat Miracle Whip sandwich spread, French's mustard and Worchestershire steak sauce.  Oh yeah!  I almost forgot.  Only CHEETOES brand cheese puffs.  The other brands taste like crud.

  2. I buy house brands as often as they are available. For instance, Oreo cookies sell for about three dollars but my market - Staters - sells their own cookie, exactly the same in size, quantity and taste for two dollars.

  3. Name Brands

Toilet tissue - Scotts or Charmin

    cereal - Kellogg's

paper towels - Viva for life

  4. I buy mostly store brands, but there are some items I will not compromise on.  Tide laundry detergent, Crest toothpaste and Ivory liquid bath soap.  My dog says that she only likes Gravy Train dog food. :)

  5. i mainly stick to brands i know and trust -- i can tell the difference say between  the mayo hellmans's and the stuff you will get at a cafe - mustard is not mustard unless it is grey poupon -  now paper products -  i just go with the nearest thing on the shelf!!

  6.     we buy mostly store brand items unless they don't carry what we need. most store brands are very good and cost less. when you get older the name brand items are not as important as in your younger years. In other words we don't have to impress anyone anymore.

  7. Hi Dizz

Thanks for the kind words earlier on a post!!!

I have so many health issues right now if i have problems here i want to run!!!

I try to always get "Viva" and am picky about my "Mane and Tail" shampoo for horses. hahaha that I use  =)  but I also go for bargains.  Have to.

    Great Questions as always!!!♥

  8. Hardly ever buy generic  8~)

  9. I'm a scratch cook and I can sew and make a few things. When I buy ready made there are a few brands I prefer. I prefer Best Foods Mayo, but my first choice is home made mayo. I prefer Levi's but my first choice is stretch pants, etc., etc., etc.

  10. I refuse to use any other mayo than Hellman's or any other laundry detergent than Tide. For anything else I try to find the best bargain.

  11. Spaghetti Sauce:  Classico with Basil

    Turkey bacon: Oscar Mayer

    Ground Turkey: Jenni-O

    Dish Liquid: Lemon Sunlight

Got to have the above items in those name brands, but items like paper towels, tissues, clothes soap are store brand names or whatever is on sale.

  12. generic are many but these must be name brand:

    soup - Campbells

    clothes soap - tide

    body soap- safeguard

cheese-various but has to be cheese not product

    all chips

    all dressings

    dish soap- Dawn

    diapers for grandson-Huggies

    that's about it

  13. I am fussy about soup. Generic brands always taste bad to me. And my cats will not eat anything but brand name cat food. I don't like generic coffee. Aside from this, we'd be happy campers at Sav-A-Lot.

  14. on some things i do, like typhoo tea, heinz baked beans, walkers crisps, but if moneys a bit tight i buy supermarkets own brands as well. not the cheap brown sauces though cos they are not nice at all !!

  15. I buy many generic brands of groceries & then there are somethings that I won't buy unless they are a brand name.

    Brand names:

Paper products: Bathroom tissue, table napkins, tissues, soup, applesauce, jelly, peanut butter

    Butter

    Generic brands:

    Canned tomato paste, tomatoes, sauce

    Popcorn

  16. My wife is a little more fussy than me. I shop and eat for price pretty much. I never was a fussy eater. I will agree that sometime, you can get some generic that isn't very good. Like green beans or asparagus canned. The generic put more stem and "woody" part of the plant in the can.

Since I garden and can, I get the absolute best stuff. I guess guys aren't as brand name conscious since we go to the fridge for a beer when those commercials come on.
